It's been quite the few extra hours over the last weeks, but I'm proud to present G-Solutions' next-generation Folders to aid in the fight against Cancer, Alzheimer, Malaria and other protein-folding related diseases that Folding@Home has been organizing since October of the year 2000.
One of the projects I'm a great supporter of is Folding@Home, I try to contribute to this project through G-Solutions as much as possible by devoting technical expertise and resources to the cause.
These resources become part of an enormous distributed-computing system that runs mathematical calculations for scientific research.

The Folding@home project (FAH) is dedicated to understanding protein folding, the diseases that result from protein misfolding and aggregation, and novel computational ways to develop new drugs in general. Here, we briefly describe our goals, what we are doing, and some highlights so far.
We feel strongly that a distributed computing project must not just run calculations on millions of PCs, but such projects must produce results, especially in the form of peer-reviewed publications, public lectures, and other ways to disseminate the results from FAH to the greater scientific community.
I urge everyone to join in on this noble mission, it is a great way to use idle computing power and a useful contribution to a greater cause.
You can run it on your pc, notebook, server, you can control the level of resources the program is allowed to access so you do not even notice it, it can even be configured to only run when the system is completely idle.

Thanks to G-Solutions I have been able to continually devote resources for a year now and recent efforts in the redesign of our Folding servers have resulted in Folder06 and Folder07 coming to life. These Folders are integrated even better on our hardware infrastructure and performance levels are way up compared to the first generation. Judging by their success, migration of the first generation will be one of the future targets.

Welcome to “The Fold.”

We are scientists. Citizens. Gamers. Thinkers. Parents. Friends. Family. We've joined forces to donate our unused computer power to help uncover the mysteries of protein folding and fight diseases. We are Folders, and this is our home.
Every computer we add gets us closer to the cures.

Join us. Tell your friends.
